Information on how DeepTechJobs.io processes personal data under the GDPR, DSGVO, and Austrian DSG.

2. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how DeepTechJobs.io processes personal data in connection with the operation of its job board, employer features, and related services. We process personal data in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR / DSGVO) and the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG).
3. Data We Collect
3.1 Server log files
When you access DeepTechJobs.io, the server may automatically process technical log data such as IP address, date and time of request, requested URL, referrer, user agent, and response status. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR based on our legitimate interest in maintaining security, stability, and abuse prevention.
3.2 Account registration
If you create an account, we process your name, email address, and password hash to provide account access and account-related functionality. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
3.3 Job applications
Where application functionality or candidate profiles are provided through our services, we may process candidate profile information, application materials, and related communications as necessary to provide the requested service. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
3.4 Employer dashboard
For employers, we process company information, contact details, subscription details, and billing-related data required to provide the employer dashboard and paid features. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
3.5 Saved jobs
Saved jobs are stored in your browser using localStorage only. This information is not transmitted to our servers unless we explicitly introduce such a feature in the future and update this policy accordingly.
3.6 Newsletter signup
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we process your email address for the purpose of sending updates and marketing communications. The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can withdraw your consent at any time by unsubscribing.
3.7 Contact inquiries
If you contact us by email or through a contact form, we process the data you provide to handle your inquiry. Depending on the context, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for pre-contractual or contractual inquiries or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR for general communication.
4. Payment Processing
Payments for employer plans and paid features are processed by Stripe Payments Europe Ltd, 1 Grand Canal Street Lower, Dublin 2, Ireland. We never store full card details on our systems. Stripe processes payment and billing data on its own responsibility in accordance with its privacy notice: stripe.com/privacy.
5. Job Data from Third-Party ATS
We automatically collect publicly available job listings from Greenhouse, Lever, and Ashby applicant tracking systems. This data is collected from public sources for the purpose of operating and maintaining the DeepTechJobs.io job board. We process this information based on our legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR in indexing and presenting publicly available job opportunities.
6. Analytics
DeepTechJobs.io does not currently use analytics or tracking tools. If analytics are added in the future, they will only be activated where legally required on the basis of appropriate consent, and this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.
7. Cookies
We use necessary session cookies for authentication and account-related functionality. We also use localStorage for saved jobs, which remains local on your device. We do not use tracking cookies or similar technologies for analytics or advertising without the required consent.
8. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the rights set out in Art. 15 to 21 GDPR, including the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, objection to processing, and the right to withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. 9. Right to Lodge a Complaint
You have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. In Austria, this is the Österreichische Datenschutzbehörde, Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, email dsb@dsb.gv.at.
10. Data Retention
We retain server logs for 14 days unless longer retention is required for security or legal reasons. Account data is retained until deletion is requested or the account is otherwise removed. Newsletter data is retained until you unsubscribe. Payment and billing records handled through Stripe may be retained in accordance with Stripe’s policies and applicable legal obligations, including retention periods of up to 7 years for financial records where required.
11. Data Transfers
Where payment-related personal data is processed by Stripe outside the European Economic Area, Stripe may rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, where applicable.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect legal, technical, or operational changes. The current version published on DeepTechJobs.io applies.
